Tax invoice template (standard)
A standard tax invoice is issued when selling to a VAT-registered business (B2B). These are the fields ZATCA requires in Phase 1; Fatooraty fills every one of them for you.
Required fields
- 1Document title: “Tax Invoice”
- 2Seller name, address and VAT number (15 digits)
- 3Buyer name, address and VAT number
- 4A unique sequential number and the issue date (and the supply date if different)
- 5Per line: description, quantity, unit price, taxable amount, VAT rate and VAT amount
- 6Total taxable amount, total VAT, and total including VAT
Tips
- A QR code is optional on a standard tax invoice in Phase 1 (it is mandatory on simplified invoices, and on all invoices from Phase 2); Fatooraty adds it anyway
- Use Latin digits (0–9) for amounts and VAT numbers so machines read them reliably
- Show Arabic and English on the same document when your client does not read Arabic
- Keep a copy of every issued invoice for at least six years

- What is the difference between a tax invoice and a simplified one?
- The standard one is for sales to VAT-registered businesses and carries the buyer’s details and VAT number; the simplified one is for sales to individuals and needs no buyer details.
- Is a stamp or signature required?
- ZATCA does not require a stamp or a handwritten signature on a Phase-1 invoice; the required fields and the QR code are enough.
- Does the currency have to be riyals?
- VAT is computed and shown in Saudi riyals. Another currency may be mentioned for reference, but the VAT amount is shown in riyals.
Fatooraty is an independent tool, not affiliated with ZATCA (the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority). The generated QR follows Phase-1 requirements only and is not a substitute for Phase-2 integration.
